My nephew Ezra, who happens to be a cutie-patootie, just turned one year old! His family (who lives in NV) and our family (in AZ, obviously) were all in Utah a few days before the big event...so we decided to have a mini celebration of our own. I made some chocolate cupcakes with peanut butter frosting (shout out to Leah for the recipe). We sang happy birthday to the smiley little guy and then let him loose on a cupcake of his own. Mind you...his parents haven't ever given him sweet stuff like cake before. With my boys (particularly with Noah) - it took quite a bit of coaxing to know what do do with cake, let alone to think it was yummy. This little guy...let's just say that he knew just what to do!
Seriously. Don't you just wanna smooch that face?!
Here we are singing Happy Birthday, and Ez really just wants to get his hands on that candle. We got quite a chuckle out of mean ol' Mom having to restrain him from burning his little fingers while we sang:
Here he is going to town on his cupcake. No coaching necessary:
So, by looking at that face...do ya' think he liked it?
He got the spray down in the sink afterward...
And then a whirlwind present opening (he was up past bedtime at this point)...
He was very polite about receiving clothing for his birthday...
We love you, Ezra! And we're so glad we were able to see you close to your birthday!

Nice post Holly. We showed it to Ezra and he was all smiles!
What a cutie! I love his cute cheeks!
It was SO fun having everyone home for awhile. (Except Elder Joshy) I loved it. I've missed out on a lot of Ezra the past year, so it was fun to have a little mini party. He is so cute, along with his sister and cousins!
