The second weekend in November Mark & I had the opportunity to take a quick jaunt (we flew out Saturday and back Sunday) to Scottsdale, AZ for a wedding! Mark's cousin Sarah got married to her sweetheart of many years. It was an absolutely beautiful wedding. Here is Sarah (the bride) with Tyler (her groom), her parents (Ron & Diane), and her brother (Andrew) before the wedding.
A group of about 14 friends & family flew in from Australia (where the bride's mother is from) for the wedding! Here are Sara & Andrew's cousins (Stephanie & Matthew) at the house before leaving for the wedding.
Mark's dad did a wonderful job officiating at the ceremony.
The newlyweds.
With the death of both grandparents on that side of the family last year - it was nice to have a happy occasion like this to get together to visit and celebrate. Here's a shot of Mark with his parents and all 3 of his siblings:
The beautiful (and yummy!) cake.
Mark & I during the reception (I was wearing Mark's brother's jacket at the time because I was cold).
The wedding and reception were held at the Royal Palms. Not only were the grounds & buildings beautiful, but the food was delicious. Every appetizer and course of food we ate was scrumptious. I didn't get a picture of any of the food, but here is a shot of our tasty dessert. Yum.
A quick snapshot I took of the center of our table. These pictures do things no justice. Everything was so lovely.
During the reception there was a live DJ and dancing. The newlyweds of course had a first dance, the bride danced with her father, the groom with his mother...and we all danced too! There was a variety of upbeat and slower songs and everyone enjoyed warming up the dance floor.
I'm not sure when the last time was that Mark and I danced. It was nice to dance a few songs together. These are a couple of pictures that Mark's dad took of us while we were on the dance floor.
The maid of honor and father of the bride gave really great speeches/toasts. Here are Sarah & Tyler laughing at one of Uncle Ron's witty quips during his speech.
After the planned speeches were done Sarah grabbed the mic herself and said, "OK, it's my turn now" - and gave an impromptu speech and herself. Tyler also gave a beautiful speech - it was heartfelt and so sincere. I doubt that I was the only one in the room with moist eyes at the time.
(Thanks to Andrew for the pictures of the speeches, as well as the first two pictures in this post)

Thank you so much for inviting us to share your special day with you! We had such a wonderful time. Also - a huge thanks to my parents who took both of our boys Saturday & Sunday so we could go!
